When I started with social media, I had not idea what a hashtag was. I mean, it’s really just the number symbol, right? I couldn’t have told you the different from a hashtag and a tweet, and never could explain what a #WCW or #FBF is. Over time though, I’ve come to understand how useful hashtags can be on social media. Believe me, they are there for a reason.
Basically, hashtags are used to sort tweets, Facebook posts, or Instagram photos so that you can search based on what you are looking for. For example, if I search #digitalprojectlife all of the posts, photos, or tweets tagged with this hashtag will come up. Using multiple hashtags puts your post in multiple different categories. We’ve talked about hashtags here before, but today I wanted to share some of the hashtags associated with TLP so that you can start using them to tag your photos and posts.
So the big ones for TLP are as follows:
- #The_Lilypad
- #Thelilypad
- #BYOCatTLP
- #MemoryPocketsMonthly
- #AmberLaBauDesigns
- #etcbydanyaledesigns
- #etcbydanyale
- #LifeLoveEtc
These are just the tip of the iceberg. Most designers have ones that use their design name. For example, #justjaimee will show you all the posts tagged that include stuff from Jaimee. On top of all those, there’s ones like #digitalscrapbooking or #digiscrapping.
Recently, people have started posting their layouts to Instagram. If you do this, I strongly RECOMMEND you use one of the TLP hashtags. You never know when the Pollys are surfing social media for Mobile Hightlights!
