Hi everyone! Guest Polly Gaelle here to show you how to make a pocket page on your phone/tablet using the Project Life app and your favourite Lilypad products.During my Guest period, I want to show you how to make pocket pages easily with your phone or tablet. Today, we're going to take a look at the Project Life application, which lets you create the pages. Later we'll see how to add text (title and/or journaling), embellishments and how to personalize our layout. For several years now, I've been making a Project Life album every year. However, it took me some time to find the right way to present it. I started by making layouts based on the photos I had for each week, and as I didn't have many photos at the time, that was pretty easy. But as time went on, I started using my phone more and more to take photos and I ended up with far too many. So I tried ready-made templates in grid … [Read more...]
Make It Monday: personalized phone cover
Scrapbooking products are very versatile and can be really useful when it comes to creating personalized items. Hybrid projects are good examples, but today I am going to show you a digitally made project. It is a personalized phone cover. I'm sure you all know the standard phone cases and covers, some are nice, some are fun, but hardly ever exactly what you're looking for. Shops offer personalized cases, but that usually means you can have a photo printed on it. But you can do so much more with the custom options offered by phone cover shops.Let me show you a couple of covers I have made before. Top left is my own phone. It was the first cover I made, so I used some of my own designs to try if it would work. That was three years ago and as you can see by all the wear and tear I've been using it since. Up until then I had only created custom photo cases. I was pleasantly … [Read more...]
Tutorial Thursday | Silhouette Photos
Hello scrappers, Kayla, aka keepscrappin, here with a Tutorial Thursday. The Threshold filter (Photoshop & PSE) is an adjustment filter that converts a photo to pure black and white, creating a silhouette. Here's the steps in PSE and they are similar in PSCC. Sorry I don't have the steps for other programs, but you can probably search the internet to find a way to get a similar effect in your program. Duplicate your photo (File -> Duplicate -> OK) and close the original. Double click the background layer to unlock it. Select the photo layer and go to the half filled circle in the layers palette or select Layer -> New Adjustment Layer -> Threshold from the menu bar. Click ok. You will get a threshold window. You can change the Threshold Level if you want. I moved the slider to the left to get more white and detail in the … [Read more...]

Mask Magic
Masks are becoming an everyday part of life with the current Covid-19 situation. And while cloth masks are helpful in real life, I want to talk about another kind of mask that's helpful to digital scrappers. I'm talking about pre-made masks like the Painted Masks 1 released today by Rachel Jefferies. These pre-made masks are an easy way to add some magic to the photos on your layouts. Take a look at this layout for example. The instructions and screenshots below were created in Photoshop Elements 2019, but the steps are similar in other versions of PSE and Photoshop.1. Start with a favorite textured paper. It can be mostly solid or as much texture as you'd like. I'm using a textured paper from Rachel Jefferies' From The Rooftops: Mixed Media Paperie.2. Add a pre-made photo mask. I added the 9x12 version of a mask from Rachel Jefferies' Painted Masks 1 and turned it 90 … [Read more...]
Hybrid Hand Towel
Hi Pad Peeps!! It's Katrina here today to share a tutorial on how to use your digital supplies to make custom hand towels for your kitchen, camper, or gifts (think ahead to Christmas!!). It's pretty easy, but I wouldn't recommend this as a kid friendly project, just for the hot iron. But they could always help you time the steps!Supplies you will need of this project are: Digital editing/printing program aka Photoshop for me! Cotton tea towel. I picked up a pack of two at a local craft store and used a coupon for a deal! Digital elements of your choice Inkjet printer Iron Inkjet Transfer Sheets (I used Therm O Web brand)You will want to wash and dry your towels before putting the transfer on them. This will get chemicals out of the towels and also if shrinkage happens, it won't affect your design.Start off by creating a document in Photoshop at … [Read more...]
