We all know what it is like. Sometimes your creative mojo is lacking. You miss scrapbooking inspiration even when you really want to do some scrapping. Maybe you want to join a challenge. Or you want to play catch up on your yearbook. It happens to everyone, so today I'm going to help you to get back into your creative flow. The Spanish artist Matisse used to say: Inspiration has to find you working. And he was right. It doesn't work to wait around until inspiration magically reappears. You have to get to work, start scrapping. Prompt Cards are a good way to get back into the scrapbooking spirit. Prompts are like starting points for your creative ideas. They are also a great help when you want to go out of your comfort zone and scrap a little different from your normal approach.Prompt cards or inspiration cards are widely available for all kinds of situations. Chocolate Gifts for Valentine
My loved ones deserve a little gift for Valentine's Day. Now I love crafting and they love chocolate. So I created giftbags and filled them with their favorite chocolate bars. I had so much fun with this hybrid project that I want to show you how I made these chocolate gifts for Valentine's Day. These giftbags are easy to make. All it takes is a bit of fussy cutting, gluing and lots of love. There are so many beautiful love themed products in the Lilypad Store right now it was hard to choose just one. In the end I decided to use Floral Steampunk Hearts Printable Papers No2 by A Whimsical Adventure and Lovey Dovey Bits and Lovey Dovey Paper Pack by Gina Miller. These kits are some of the new releases this Froggy Friday, so go check out the store. It might seem like an unusual combination, but the somewhat softened colors of the Lovey Dovey designs go really well with the … [Read more...]
Thoughtful Thursday: Planning a November Hybrid Album
Hello! It is hard to believe that time is passing by so fast and soon it will be November! I don't know how this happens each year, but it does....time flies by and I always seem to feel like I want things to slow down and want to appreciate life more. As such, this is the time of year that I really long to do a monthly gratitude project and November is the perfect month for it. I've done this type of project several years now, and have always focused on what I'm grateful for, what makes me feel blessed, and the good things in life. I shared my 2020 project before: here, here, and here. This year I'm again drawn to embark on this project, but I've been feeling a desire to change it up just a little bit. Instead of an album focused on things I'm thankful for, I want to shift my lens and spend the month of November pausing and noticing, recognizing and acknowledging, breathing and … [Read more...]
Hybrid Decor: Wall Art
Hello! Today I'd like to share a simple and fun project for your autumn decorating - wall art! Using digital art and digital scrapbooking kits are perfect for creating new framed art for your seasonal decor. It also helps you stretch your supplies and I love doing these projects as I just enjoy getting creative. In less than a couple of hours you can have something new and lovely hanging on your walls to celebrate the season. For this project, I used Paislee Press' new wall art - Fall State of Mind, and a variety of autumn themed elements from Allison Pennington - Autumn Feelings, and Sahin Designs - Boo & Stuff and Fall is For to create my artwork.I wanted to add shimmer to my design, so I printed the word art on my laser printer and foiled it with deco foil and a Cricut Easy Press (a heat press machine - similar concept to a very large iron). I don't have a laminating … [Read more...]
MOC7 Prep Tips and Challenge Tracker
Month of Challenges. Just the name brings forth joy in my heart. The first year I participated was a slightly different feeling. Let's call it terror or maybe fear. I had no idea what to expect and was a a little frightened at the idea of scrapping a page a day for an entire month. Much less a challenge every day! I made it through and now that fear is gone. It has turned into pure anticipation! 31 days of challenges to complete! One of the best tips that was shared with me early on was find a way to track which challenges you have completed and submitted your page to the thread. There are numerous ways to do this - pen and paper, excel sheets, even just looking at the board! See my face on those threads? That means I've replied inside them. My favorite is to mark that I finished the page and mark that I added it to the thread. Why the two steps? Because there are times I finish … [Read more...]
