Here in the Northeast we still have a bit of summer left to enjoy, but we are just starting to get a hint of the cooler weather lurking around the corner. The kids are almost back to school (after Labor Day for us!) and things are starting to wind down and transition from lazy days of summer to schedules & structure. For us, this means more dinners around the family table. It also is a time when the cooler temperatures of fall allow me to turn my oven on again and serve up lots of comfort food for my family. Speaking of comfort food and family dinners gathered around the table, Lynne-Marie has a gorgeous set of Bon Appetit products on sale today, some old, some new ... let's have a look. The Bon Appetit bundle is classic, elegant and perfect for scrapping family meals and delicious food, whether you make it yourself or are enjoying time eating out with family or friends. … [Read more...]
The Hybrid Variety Show – Triangles
Welcome to the latest edition of the Hybrid Variety Show. This month we are taking on the challenge of triangles. You might notice that triangles are part of the current trend watch. Now is a great time to try your hand at something from the Trend Watch sale. Sarah created a hybrid layout using triangle elements. This page is so sweet and just super creative. Credits: Manic Monday Collab from Amy Wolff and Lynne Marie, Chalkies from Pink Reptile Designs, and Try-An-Angle from Heather Joyce. Here is what Sarah had to see about her creative process:I love the clean look of the Try-An-Angle template set from Heather Joyce. I thought it would be fun to use my Silhouette to create a layout using one of the templates in the set. My first step was to resize everything to 8" x 8" and then trace and cut using the different shapes (in this case lots of triangles) in the template and filling … [Read more...]

Hybrid Tutorial – Printable Treat Bags
Fourth of July is just around the corner! For those of us who are Americans this is a time we celebrate our patriotism for our country. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for this holiday because my grandpa was in the army during WWII. He was the type of man who cried when we sang patriotic songs or when the flag was presented at an event we were attending. When he was alive he loved to see me dress my kiddos up in red, white, and blue for the holiday. Even though my grandpa isn't alive anymore I try and do things for the Fourth of July that I think would bring a smile to his face. This year I have a few little goodies to give my girls to help them enjoy some the activities we will be doing on the Fourth. I wanted to make something nice for their goodies to be wrapped in before they received them. I came up with the idea to create a printable treat bag for these goodies, and … [Read more...]
