Earlier this month, I shared here on the blog some of the big hashtags that are associated with The Lilypad. The real reason for sharing those with you, was so that we can bring back Mobile Highlights. I’ve spent some time checking out what you’re posting on Instagram this month, and these are the things that are really standing out to me!
I absolutely LOVE how the Halloween Mats by Forever Joy are used here. The tone on tone look helps the photo and elements stand out, but the paper mat adds a lot of visual interest.
Here are those Halloween Mats again, but what really stands out to me here is the title work. The vellum “You” has an almost ghostly look to it, and the flair with the boy picture is a nice addition.
On this pocket style page, I loved how the elements expanded over the “pockets” of the page and off the edge of the page itself. It helps give a very realistic look to the page.
On this layout, I was struck immediately at how the paper for the background was used to fit the journaling as well. Using the relief stripe for journaling is a pretty smart way to accommodate this large striped paper.
So this layout jumped out at me because it’s Disney at first. Then, I started looking at all of the details. I was especially enamored by the screws, nuts, and bolts scattered in the bottom areas of the page.
I know from experience that clean and simple layouts are sometimes more challenging than creating more elaborate ones. This layout jumped out at me right away for it’s emphasis on journaling and use of white.
I loved this use of Memory Pockets Monthly cards! Using them in the planner adds a fun touch.
This last layout screams fall to me. The colors, the photo, the use of leaves…all create that warm fall feeling. What I was struck with though was how expertly the background paper is used here. Often busy patterns like this are hard to use, but here it’s done perfectly.
So keep posting using our hashtags, you never know when I’ll be looking!
