I know I say this every month, but the colors and the theme of this month’s Mixed Media Monthly is so gorgeous! This is such a great intro to spring! I decided to do something a little different this month. Normally, I do a pretty flat art journal page. I just love all the flowery elements and wanted to do a more traditional photo-less scrapbook style. To do that I just added a larger shadow to the elements to make them pop off the background a bit more.
Last week in the subscriber forum, I started a series on design concepts and when I started putting the page together, I naturally went to using the rule of thirds. Also, when I’m bundling little clusters around the page, I like to work in odd numbers. When I would drag over a flower, I would use CTRL + J (Command + J on a Mac) twice to duplicate it twice more for a total of three. It’s a fun easy tip when pulling together a page.
