Hey scrappers! Polly Jewelle here with a tutorial for you today! Mini album’s are probably my favorite hybrid creation to make. Mini’s are great way to share photographs with family members or other special people in your life. Today I am going to teach you how to make an according mini album. Some of the steps my seem a little daunting, but I promise they are quite simple. Let’s get started!
1. Grab a solid color piece of 8.5 x 11 cardstock. Lay the cardstock landscape orientation and score the paper at 3, 6, and 9 inches.
2. Flip your cardstock to portrait orientation and cut three strips each being 2.75 inches.
3. Repeat steps one and two with a the same type of cardstock.
4. Fold along score lines alternating the direction of the fold with each line. Next we will glue our strips together, however first take notice on each strip of cardstock you have a division that is shorter than the rest. This shorter division will always be glued onto the first division of the following strip allowing the pages to come out even sized. Take a minute to look at my picture and work with your strips of paper in your hand. As you fiddle with them it becomes clear how they should come together. Now adhere four of the strips of cadrstock to each other. The other two are extras for you to make another mini album! On the right end snip off the remaining short piece.
5. To create the cover you need another piece of the cardstock you used for the pages. Cut one strip of cardstock to 2.75″ x 11″. Score this strip at 3, 3.5, 6.5, 7 and 9 inches. Fold each line. Take the last section you scored and fold it over. Adhere these pieces together and round the corners. See how this is looking like a book cover with a flap? My picture below just shows you the score lines.
6. Lastly adhere the first section of the strip of paper to the first section of your cover. Adhere the last section of the strip to the remaining large section of your cover. Fold it all inward and you have a mini album!
7. Embellish and decorate your album! I used these kits from The LilyPad to create my pages that went in my mini album:
Slightly Lined, I am Not Perfect | Papers, and I am Not Perfect | Elements by Pink Reptile Designs
oh (dearie) papers and oh dearie (elements) by Paislee Press
plastic alpha by Sahlin Studio
The Short Caps by Heather Joyce
Sequoia Tree {elements} by Sara Gleason
And here is view of what my pages looked like as I worked on them.
8. Enjoy and share your mini album!
