Those are awesome products, @wvsandy!! And Yes, I love Lynn's templates for that!! Thank you so much for sharing!
I looooooove blending papers. I most regularly use blending to make a paper be more of the color I want from a kit. For instance, if Little Butterfly Wings includes one color of a scratchy painty mixed media, I love the texture, but that color in the kit doesn't work for my photo or story. So I just use a solid paper (or a new layer with a color picker and a paint bucket) to mess with blending modes. I can alternate if I want the original paper above or below, if I want the paper darker or lighter. I mess with opacities... I use this method for tinting photos, too. (Blending a solid paper with blend modes over a photo) A Beach Photo by klee73010 posted Jan 29, 2018 at 8:44 PM I haven't used the gradient layer mask for paper blending though. I usually rely on template pieces to include masks I can clip to, but, I've been getting a little better with brushes and layer masks after that dispersion technique for MOC... I'm sure this will be a piece of cake after that animal of a challenge (which I loved, seriously.) !!!
MY layout from yesterday used gradient masks. LOVE them! Honestly, I think at least 50% of my backgrounds usually have something blended into them with gradients. On my first page of layouts, I have 7 out of 15 layouts that use gradients.
WOW, using a gradient to blend is awesome!! So glad you put this in the learning pad. Here are some I recently did for challenges. For the style challenge; love how I got the darker side and the lighter side with the two papers. For the journaling challenge; there are three papers blended here:
Omgosh, I really love this!!! And how cool to blend a paper over a photo! Totally awesome! I need to try that soon!!! You will be henceforth known as the paper blending queen 7 out of 15...that's awesome! Love this one!! Those are both so gorgeous, Nancy!! Thanks for sharing. I'm getting all kinds of inspired! Ooooh that is seriously beautiful!! Like I said to Nancy, I am so inspired by all your creativity!! Thanks for sharing!!
I got one, I didn't know that you could keep pulling gradients on top of gradients on a mask that you created. Here is my example with a radial gradient.
Dalis... I love the movement that it brings to the page. Plus the lines going across and then the round blended spots really look cool together! I made a tut for Mirjam to add creases with gradients. Take a peek. (Adding Folds)
These are all gorgeous examples of blending! @Dalis the layered gradients idea is really neat! What an eye catching page. And @jk703 ... that tutorial was incredible!
I absolutely love how TLP teaches me so much!! I had never tried blending papers before and Jenn @jenn mccabe had a slow scrap recently featuring how to blend papers. I loved it and have been blending papers. Here's the layout I created for Jenn's Slow Scrap. I just created this page for the PRD July Round Robin. I blended 3 papers on it.
@Cherylndesigns I think that was the lovely @Karen that hosted that Blending Chat! I LOVE that you are getting to try new things and having fun while scrapping! Both pages are awesome!
