I really need to do this more as it makes such stunning pages. Love the examples here and the links to the tutorial and kits. Thanks.
@AnneofAlamo I don't see Farrah's original tutorial. The link shown takes you to the 1st Monthly Tutorial - Blending.
Until Anne has a chance to update the link ... I found it here @cookingmylife Farrah's Journaling text ideas have fun JOAPing!
thank you dear Jenn and @cookingmylife whoops, my fingers go faster than my brain..bhahahah all fixed thank you! ♥
I found this one in the gallery! Check out how @MamaBee uses a black typewriter text in a square as a border!
This beauty just showed up in the gallery. It's by our very own Rae @bcgal00. I love that the JOAP makes a nice frame around the photo cluster.
@keepscrappin TY Kayla. I used to do this a lot but then somehow got away from it so decided to use this technique on my newest page. I had forgotten how easy it is and how effective it is in drawing your eye to a selected area on your page.
Thanks all! It's great that you enjoyed this page because it was a stretch for me. The challenge was to work out of your comfort zone and not only do I rarely use shapes in my layouts but I had never used text on a path. It took me a few tries to get it right, but now that I know how to do it, I plan to try more in the future. And yes, I do print all my LOs off. I make a hardcover book every three months. Best part of digital scrapbooking for me is I will be able to print off books for each of the kids of their own memories and still be able to keep my copy!
I just made this!! I like the creative way it looks, but sometimes have a hard time reading the text, Id love to find some gentle hills to text on though!!
I don't use text paths too often, unless they are part of a template. Here's my most recent layout with a text path.
I used a template to do this one. As soon as I saw the title this is the template that came to mind, lol!
I just got the Sahlin Studio Journaling on a Path - three of them. I struggled a little with this one, but I finally got it right. I'm going to be doing a lot of this now.
Thanks for keeping these Why It Works challenges pinned. I needed a refresher on text paths since it's been more than a decade since I've worked with Photoshop. I enjoyed employing what I learned on this page: I was able to create a path from a selection that had outlined the design. So handy!
