Confession I have a bamboo tablet that I have had for a few years and haven't really ever even used it. Now I am getting the itch!
Oh boy...you are in for a treat! I have 3 of them b/c I can't scrap without them now, I love them so much. I have the bamboo and intuos and keep one at our trailer and 2 at home for pc and laptop. I buy the cheapest ones and they seem to last me at least a few yrs so well worth the money.
When I first saw the subject line I thought it was about scrapping on like an iPad. LOL I know it's possible, that some even use their phones, but I've never wanted to try. I like a BIG screen. As for the kind of tablet you meant, I never have. However, I use the Apple "Magic Trackpad" instead of a mouse, which has some things in common. And it's awesome.
a kiss for Bart. I use a Wacom and it is great... started using it more when suffering with a pinched nerve and found using the mouse caused too much pain in my right arm. I use it all the time with scrapping now.
I haven't used my bamboo tablet for ages now (I lost my pen) but I loved it while I could use it. Hmmm maybe I should as for a new one for Mother's Day
Well, I got it out and at least played with a little, just doodling. I will have to dedicate some time to it to see if it's something I really really really want to play with!
@KatrinaHunt13 you've inspired me!! I got one a few years ago - always intended to learn it and just never have. I'll give it a go this week! I think Just Jaimee has a class at Scrapaneers for tablet use? I may have to go check that out as well
I found the best way to get used to the feel of the pen and tablet was to play games on the computer like solitaire etc.
Oooohhh...I've had a Wacom tablet for a few years...I think it's been out of the box, maybe, twice...maybe it's time to dust it off again!!
I have two but rarely use them. Everyone in awhile I take it out but I end up putting it away. I think the trick is to customize it to your likings/needs. Maybe I will pull mine out and have another go too ... @michelepixels funny, i have the magic track pad as my backup - for when my magic mouse dies and i need to recharge it. i cringe and cry when i have to use the track pad. i don't know why but it feels all wrong and wonky to me. i am so much faster with my mouse.
kiss! Thanks @jenn mccabe Part of it is probably just that we are most comfortable with what we are used to. And there are a couple of default settings for the track pad that I adjust to my liking. The main one is that I don't have to push down to make a full click on the track pad. Just a light finger tap (or double tap for double clicking) will do. As for scrolling, it's so incredibly easy to just swipe up or down! I much prefer moving my hand on a stationary pad over gripping a mouse.
