    @jk703 I read The Giver a couple of years ago and liked it. I was pleased with the movie adaptation too.

    I've been neglectful about curling up with a book recently. Partly because I'm busy. Partly because the books I'm trying to read -- Rick Riordan's -- at my daughter's request, are not engaging to me. Shh, don't tell her I said that! They're well written and amusing sometimes, but I don't care for battle scenes or hero stories. The books that have been suggested so far look interesting judging by the titles and covers. I look forward to reading something new. I think I'll alternate between TLP book club selections and Rick Riordan books. :)
