Safety Pins...do you know what they are? or what they're for?

Love me some safety pins! I keep them in various sizes & colors (love the black ones) at home, in my purse & in my office. I'm a bit top-heavy, so I end up with a lot of gaps on shirts. They're great at keeping those closed.

I also wear A TON of jackets (my clothing weakness...after shoes, that is). I use them under the lapel to keep the jacket & whatever else I'm wearing underneath it together. Just makes me look more put together than having straps accidentally show (I'm very type A).

I don't use them too much for sewing (I tend to use T-pins or straight pins for that), but I always use them at the school's uniform sale to pin envelopes to clothing. Thanks for the interesting question, Maureen!

That's too funny! I remember making friendship pins with safety pins & seed beads too. Loved it!

Maybe I'll change my status to let the fabulous Naming Fairy know they're being earnestly summoned. Who knows...maybe they're feeling particularly generous to you?

@berniek See what you started? LOL!

@cookingmylife I noticed.. here I thought I'd get something like Love Fairy or Positive Princess for People Everywhere or something... devious indeed! (But secretly, I love it! I'm someone!!!)

Yeah I mostly know them from sports, pinning on running bibs. We have plenty at home from races. (I don't run anymore, but my hubby does)
