Styles: You can retrieve the style file from Adobe on your computer. Go to C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\14.0\Photo Creations\layer styles Now, this may be a hidden folder, so you may have to tell Windows to show your folders. Once in that folder, you should see all the styles you've installed. You can copy and paste them elsewhere to reinstall. Actions: I'm not positive on this one. Photoshop seems to have actions here: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\14.0\Photo Creations\photo effects I'm not sure if it has ones your installed there or not? *Oh, and the 14.0 is my version of PSE. Your folder would be 13.0
ok, I'm just thinking of anything.... can you try just clicking somewhere and start typing, does the same thing happen? I was reading... this seems to be similar to Cambria font issues. Maybe the font download or install corrupted. Can you remove it and re-install? Another thing that I read was to set the baseline to 0. multiple times. Resetting Character...
It looks like I am about to need that info for a reinstall. I was so hoping it would not come to that... But I just hope it fixes it now because that text issue is driving me crazy.
If the issue is "stuck" it would cause this problem until reset. Can you reset the Character Reset multiple times, close out the software, and try a new file? Or maybe an old file that didn't have any issue?
how would I do a character reset? I have been doing a type reset, but I am not seeing how to do a character reset. I do know the last font I downloaded... don't know if it effected anything, but I could start there.
in the image... you see the word Character... those lines next to it - on the right-sh. Click on that, and you will see Character Reset toward the bottom of the Fly Out Menu. It's 3 from the bottom.
I'm thinking it might be corrupted fonts. I'd try opening an older file that didn't have the issue, like Jen suggested and see if you can make a text box and type in it there, just so we know.
@jk703 I THINK IT IS FIXED!!!!!!! I opened an old layout PSD files that I made well before this text issue started. I clicked in a good text box on that layout and it was okay. I went back to my new layout, created a text box, and it was fixed. Thank you SO MUCH! @cfile @keepscrappin @bestcee Just wanted you all to know it's fixed!
That's it.... I just did it on my computer.... It's a negative offset. Let me know if that worked, if not, we will figure it out.
It's good! I have been making a bunch of text boxes just to make sure but it's good! I wonder what caused it because I do NOT want to do it again.
Whew... I'm happy! I tried it on mine, and it looked like yours. The -100 caused it.... next to the Aa arrow up...
Well at least you know the fix is to open a file that didn't have the issue. Glad you're back in business.
It's pry a glitch and gets stuck. So... you can either do a Character reset... or open an old file. Maybe create a file with good text boxes, just in case, so nothing happens to any of your layouts.
well, at least I now know what to do if I ever manage to do that again... which I hope I don't lol. Thank you again. I really appreciate it!
awesome! So glad to hear it. I had an issue like I said where it had gotten stuck in PSE as all caps.. regardless of font chosen ... glad you were able to fix getting an old psd to trick the program back into working right!
