Ahhhh!!!!! This is SOOOO cool!!! I've always just had to pick what I wanted "knocked out" and then cut and shadowed and messed around with things!!! How AWESOME is this?!?! THANK YOU for asking and thank you sooo much to all the people who answered and CHRISTA! (@cfile ) THANK YOU for the image tutorial, I'm a visual learner so that helped a TON! Yep! I was doing that whole thing where you cut it out, and then if you didn't like it you had to start all over again! Then I found the paper clipping trick. But the knock out shadow seems like the easiest to me so far! Although, I can totally see instances where the paper clipping will still be the best choice.

I'll have to go back and look at your tutorials another day on my iPad while I do it on the computer. I really like cut outs but always forget the steps! @cfile I think you have a real gift for making the best tutorials! I wish you worked for Adobe!

So, I use One Little Bird's inner shadow styles, but sometimes, I feel like shadowing one side of the cut-out doesn't look real enough. So I simplify my layer, and then add a second layer of inner shadow, but use the style dialog box to switch direction, and reduce the shadow, so it's only enough to create a little more definition on that bottom corner. If I feel I need it.

Anyone have access to that original video from OLB's website? the link isn't working anymore and I can't tell who actually did the tutorial.
