I had a few people comment on my page that I made from viewing a YouTube video on the technique so I thought I would post it here. Enjoy!! ---------------------------------------- Here are the links: You Tube: The man used Wordle.net for the words, however I had difficulty with that so I found word cloud to use which is also free: https://www.wordclouds.com/ I just used the lyrics to Dan Fogelberg's Leader of the Band, copied and put into the word cloud and it made the words for me: After I finished with the tutorial, it had ended as a b/w .. [I took a screen shot from the tutorial to use the same face below so I could follow along with the tutorial]... after I was done, I moved the color layer up above the working layers and added it twice more for a total of 3 color photos on blend mode multiply 76 % Opacity each time...and added a curve layer to lighten a little as I wanted it in color instead of where the tutorial ends in B/W. Screenshot of my layer pallet: Here is the photo the man used: This is my b/w version with the lyrics to Leader of the Band. And now with the color photo original moved up to the top layer and duplicated 3 times all set to blend mode of multiply and then a curve layer added to lighten it a bit. Once completed, I finished it in a layout. Here is my finished image in the gallery: Have fun!! ****If you cannot see the photos, I posted them below https://the-lilypad.com/forum/threads/portrait-typography.52167/#post-953788 ****
Very cool! Thanks for sharing the tutorial. Your page turned out amazing! (Some of the screenshots aren't showing though)
There was a similar class at Scrapaneers- Art of Journaling! SO fun! I made my layout with brushes instead of blend modes- I need to do this again! Maybe a MOC challenge!?!?
Hi Christa, Thanks for sharing. This is what I am seeing: Here is the photo the man used: This is my b/w version with the lyrics to Leader of the Band. And now with the color photo original moved up to the top layer and duplicated 3 times all set to blend mode of multiply and then a curve layer added to lighten it a bit.
Thank you for sharing! Looks like a cool technique. And I'd love to use it for MOC! I'll watch the video later.
Awesome! Thank you so much for sharing this CHrista - I definitely want to find some time to sit down and try it soon!
Thanks all and thanks @mcurtt for letting me know what you were seeing can’t wait to see when everyone gets time to play!!!
I love different text techniques so I'm putting this on my "to-do" list! I've found a lot of inspiration on pinterest going through editorial boards for magazine design.
I just found this and all I can say is "wow"!! Christa, thanks for the video - I've never had the nerve to try it.
