A new month, a new challenge and a winner for June. Congratulations to sandsock for her winning layout, winner announced, here. For the month of July, Lynn has once again graciously decided to treat you to a a few discounted products. (Splattered Blooms, Fancy Floral and Buckle my shoe elements) For this month's challenge you need to scrap a heritage photo, or any photo older than ten years, and add some flowers to your layout. You must use at least 75% products by Lynn Grieveson, templates count 15%. Most of her kits include flowers so check your stash. I love adding flowers into my layouts, because I love flowers and I add them even to all guy layouts, because I am making them and I am a girl. Your layout needs to be new and needs to meet The Lilypad gallery requirements to be posted there. My layout used: Mariko kit, Alphabetti Brushes, Hello Happy Templates and Fancy Floral. For this challenge you have from today, the 1st of July until 31st of July midnight EDT to create a new layout, post it to Lynn Grieveson's gallery, here at the Lilypad and to leave a comment on this thread with a link to your layout so that we can check it out, leave you some love and put you in the running to win a $10 voucher to Lynn Grieveson Design's store at The Lilypad. Winner will be chosen by Lynn.
LOVED this challenge. I've been wanting to start on a family tree book, and this got me going. The photo is my husband's grandparents, who got married in Montreal in 1942. The bride was 17 and the groom was 24. My husband's Bubby (aka Grandmother) is still alive. Margie & Lew's Wedding by Juliestcyr posted Jul 6, 2016 at 2:11 AM
Photo from 1908 or so This is my great Grandmother Aura. Born in 1891, very creative and way before her time! She died when I was 13, in 1984. On the back of this photo is written "Voted the prettiest girl at Ferris State" I can imagine how long her hair was!!
I mixed up from several kits plus the fab fancy florals on discount for the challenge (thanks). ETA sigh I didn't read the photo older than 10 years. Will be back with another!
Oooooooh, I LOVE flowers! I just wish I had some old photographs digitized. I'm loving all the layouts, ladies -- FABULOUS!
Thanks for the flower sale, Lynn! I love your kits! This photo was taken about 1958. I wanted to keep the journaling subtle, so it may be hard to read. This is what it says: This picture always makes me a bit nostalgic. I found it in my sister Deanna’s pictures after she passed away. This is my oldest sister with our parents. She passed away at the young age of 43 due to complications from surgery. When I first found this photo, I sat and cried. I miss them all so much. I love that this photo shows them walking away together - “into the sunset” so to speak. It makes me feel a bit better to think of them like this - holding hands and just being together.
