Hi everyone, and welcome to June! This month our Scraplift Challenge is going to focus on our newest Guest Polly, Lisa (@ArmyGrl). The challenge is simple, pick a page from Lisa's gallery to lift and use it as inspiration for your own page. Here is a link to her gallery. I was immediately drawn to this amazing page from Lisa's gallery. I have a fondness for large photo layouts, and loved the clean look of minimal elements in a vertical orientation. A minimalist style is out of my comfort zone, so I borrowed heavily from Lisa's original! And here is my page: As always, please remember the monthly challenge rules: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the June Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges). I look forward to seeing how Lisa inspires you!
I am going to scaplift this one. Mine: I used a light background, 4 photos and the topic of taking a break is much the same.
@HeatherB I just wanted to say thank you for choosing my gallery this month. I am very flattered. To all those participating in this challenge, good luck! I hope you find a style that is easy to lift.
Ooh-- I love all the 8.5x11 (or 9x12?) vertical rectangle layouts in @ArmyGrl's gallery! Thanks for the push to check it out and lift a page @HeatherB! I had a hard time choosing, and finally decided upon this page to lift: I'll be back soon with my interpretation-
Here is the layout I chose to lift. I loved the large title along side the photos, so I went with it. And here is my layout:
I scraplifted this one: I loved the large floral background & the pretty floral picture as well as the square matting. I had the perfect photos to go along with it! Mine:
I have chosen this striking layout to scraplift: Isn't it funny how we start out with one idea and as we get into scrapping it things change? I originally liked the b&w and the oranges against the white background. But I loved and wanted to use this photo and I found that the variations and textures of the woods interesting and decided to keep it in color. Everything else grew out of that but I think I've gotten the design and the spirit of armygirl's layout. Here's my adaptation:
I loved @ArmyGrl SweetSummertime layout, with the BIG square photo and the two clusters on either side of it. Here's mine
I decided to start with the scraplift this month, which may be a first for me! Here's mine . . . I was inspired by the full page photo and minimal decoration of Lisa's Blue Skies Calling:
