Last week was our Spring Bank Holiday. Summer is July/August/September here, so I guess I'll be looking to see if I photographed anything suitable last summer.
Sunshine + water+fun is the perfect definition for a good summer. This year, we'll have some Stay-cation. Living in the mountain means that we'll spend a lot of time at the swimming pool (like last Sunday) or at the lake. And fortunately we have a wonderful weather these days (not too hot and not too cold)
Not quite summer here yet but it was a lovely day today so I took my girls to the park and snapped a few photos. Summer to me is days out together, relaxing in the sun with family:
There's an ice cream place that's only open in the summer, so not only is the cold treat a sign of warm weather, but going here means summer has officially started!
I know this isn't a typical "summer" layout, but anyone that knows me knows that I DETEST summer and everything that goes with it. So, instead of doing a depressing, negative layout about summer, I thought I would scrap a photo about the most fabulous thing happening this particular summer, which is the birth of my first grandchild (who is currently hiding inside of my daughter...lol). Thanks for the challenge, Natasha!
The first thing that comes to mind that makes summer special in my family is swimming. When I searched for the term "pool" in my photo archives I got over 1700 results! I don't have any swimming photos yet from this year because summer hasn't even officially begun yet, however, the photo in the lower right corner IS from this month and was taken a few days ago at the place where we'll be having the most of our splashy fun this summer because, for the first time ever, we got season passes to an amusement park that includes a water park.
The end of May in the chatter threads this question was asked, and it was suggested I scrapped my answer. Here it is
