I have a tendency to take a more literal approach when I pick an "inspiration" piece. So, that said, here is my "Masters" inspiration and my resulting ATC. Fun challenge.
I chose this piece to mimic the colors: And here is how it inspired me: (I'm always drawn to bright and vibrant colors.)
I love Edward Hopper's painting of folks in cafes. I take lots of photos in restaurants. My inspiriation is of this painting from 1927.
Wow, this is a really cool challenge! I'm currently taking my fifth art history class (as a non-art history major ), so choosing a piece might be difficult haha...
I chose Aleksandra Ekster's City. I used the building layout in the painting to help with placement of my photos. The blue strip across the back based on the blue swirl across the top of the painting.
The inspiration challenge was to design based on a work of art. This is based off of Van Goh's Starry Night" https://www.google.com/culturalinst...875748076371548,"height":1.2375000000000003}} The large tree with the two boys takes the place of the mountain, while the circle photos with the stitch frames replace Vincent's swirls and stars. Inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa. I know it's terribly pathetic to choose that painting and dream about being both the model and the artist, but I couldn't help myself!
