My dad and his best friend Jerry were two of the funniest guys I've ever known, especially when they were together. They fed off each other. They always said their dream jobs (working together) would be coming up with funny cards for Hallmark. Haha

My first job was probably the most fun. I wasn't quite 16 and got a job at a Danish bakery about a mile from my home. The bakery goods were to die for & we were able to help ourselves to cookies & others at a greatly reduced price. Sadly I had to quit after 5 months because I had gained 15 lbs and my clothes didn't fit. Actually it was probably school, but I did gain those 15 lbs.

I worked at Helene Curtis (factory) for a month in the summer between my senior year & college. It was a fun & relaxed atmosphere, but screwing caps on bottles for 8 hours a day was not my idea of a good time, made me really want to further my education. I remember volunteering for the "powder" room, where you got paid a nickel more an hour and had to wear masks. I think the day I was there, we were bottling bath salts & the fumes & powders were everywhere, my poor lungs.

At the university, I mostly worked in one of the school cafeterias, serving students, washing dishes. Actually that is where I met my DH. :-) During the summer, I worked for a Pizza Hut as a waitress. Worst job every. Decided that waitressing was not in the cards for me.

When I left to follow John back to his home town, I found a job at a local hospital that was in the midst of installing a computer system. It was 1973. They needed the help because the install was a disaster and just about everything had to be typed up manually and added to patient bills, etc. I must have liked it because almost 45 years later, I'm still at that same hospital.

I worked at Steak 'n' Shake (restaurant) in the drive through the summer I was 16.

    Worst. job. ever.

Drive through had to work that station + help with every single other station if there was a rush or lull. No one would take the time to train me, though. I also had to prep all the stations which involved coming in and out of the walk-in freezer multiple times. Everyone else was 10+ years older than me and didn't talk to me unless they were yelling at me for something I didn't do or did incorrectly. I often didn't get a bathroom break because no one wanted to take over drive through for me & only one manager of the 4 that worked there would force someone else to take over for me.

I lost 20 pounds in 6 weeks, though, from the stress so it was the skinniest I ever was in high school. #silverlining #maybe

I have had no jobs that I would ever want to do again. Now my last job was my dream job but now that I'm out of it, I certainly wouldn't want to go back. The stress isn't worth it.

Retirement is the best job ever!

I worked at the local fishmarket from 13 till 17 years old, it wasn't my dream job but I had lots of fun with my collegues and I could do lots of things with the money I earned.

At 17 I started nursing school and that's the start of my dreamjob, 20 years later I still love every minute of working at the neonatal high care unit. Sometimes it's really, really hard, but most of the times it's so beautiful

I had a paper route, which I kinda liked. Then I worked at a greenhouse on the weekends, I inherited my inability to sleep in from this job :giggle... After 3 years I found a job at this venue where they organised luna parties and casino nights. I loved being a Blackjack croupier for these parties, we even went on location to some proms, which was fun. I made about $50 dollars a night and after the parties were over I would go clubbing in the same town. And if I had some money left, I would buy a CD. Wow, how the time flies!

Then when I was at college I worked at a gift shop; I'd always loved that shop and then I got to work there. I was over the moon. It paid well too, so I ended up staying there for 5 years. Then I graduated and real life and real jobs started...That's 12 years ago already! Yikes!
