Their words were up to 2 weeks but hoping to be sooner - they didn’t want to say a week and then it take longer. They were still interviewing today and then had up to 3 reference checks per person to do so I understand why it could take longer.
Argh......so so so frustrating, didnt get the job I interviewed for. It does sound like once again it wasnt anything I did or didnt do. The Area Manager did however ask my permission to share my CV with her colleagues as she felt my skills and experience was unique and could be utilized somewhere.
I'm so sorry Jennifer - hoping maybe someone else in the organization can use you! Fingers crossed for you!
Aw, man! It's a good sign that she wants to share your CV! Hopefully that will open a door for you since she's already talked with you, and liked you enough to want to pass your CV around!
It does sound interesting and I’ll see if it turns into anything. It’s just been super hard as I’ve been constantly looking for 15 months now.
I think this is really encouraging! I would say to be aggressive and ask for the names and emails of those colleagues so you can follow up.
I would except it’s a if something pops up kind of situation rather than anything that’s floating around now. Going to focus on applying for other jobs that close over the next week now.
That's really encouraging, Jennifer, that she wants to share your info. I'm still praying for you that you'll get the perfect job. I know the right one will come your way!
Sorry that you didn't get this job, but I am very encouraged for you that she wants to share your CV around!
just adding some good news to this thread, have secured a job interview for a Policy and Advocacy Assistant in a large disability service organization this Thursday afternoon (Wed 8pm EST). It is a fixed term 10 hour a week role til the end of the year which would be a good start.
@littlekiwi may the interview go well and this be the start of employment for you. Are those hours enough for you or will you need to find a second job?
@A-M No there isn’t enough hours to be totally off the disability benefit i’m on so if I’m successful, I’ll stay on the benefit but have benefit abatement for earning over $100 a week (30c per dollar I earn for $101-199, 70c per dollar above $200) and 22% secondary tax. While it’s not my ideal number of hours , it helps that I’ll be able to live at home so my costs are less.
