Good news, just got off the phone where I was offered an interview next Monday for a part time administration role at a health and disability organization (10 hours per week plus up to 10 hours extra a month)
While it’s not exactly what I want, it would be a start in the right sector. This job will mean I move out of home (yay!) but not enough to go off my benefit totally which will mean a tight budget.
ohhh sorry!!! I didn't read properly, well, it is still a step forward!!! fingers crossed, all will be great!!! it is 04:30 am here, I better go get some sleep!!!!
An interview is good. And even if it's part time, those can migrate to full time. You've got mad interview skills - go nail the job!
Exactly, that’s why I applied for it. Before I apply I make sure I can financially swing the job so that I don’t become worse off.
It comes from once I give up the benefit I’m on, if I run in to financial problems it will be close to impossible to get back on it as it is a medically tested benefit with no full time work allowed. If you are seen as “work able”, I’d be transferred off that benefit and automatically lose $100 per week and have far more stringent rules and regulations to follow - eg: monthly check ins, seminars, having to take any full time work etc
Interview is in about 18 hours at 7pm Eastern, I’m leaving at 2:40pm EST and won’t be home til 12:45am EST so it’s a long day but if I’m successful it will be worth it.
Finished the interview about 2 hours ago. Felt it went really well and will hear within 2 weeks (taking a bit longer as the next two weeks have public holidays in them)
