I use Artisan too. I'll ask some people I know on Facebook who have played around with special features if they know a work around for us for this effect. I'll share if I get an answer.

@bonnenuit and @Genniejoy I know we have some Artisan users who will be around in the morning too! They might know.

Thanks girls, it looks intriguing. I tried Photo shop once but it was too confusing for me. Once I found the forerunner of Artisan I was hooked. I've been using that software in both it's forms for about 6 years (Previously CM owned it with a different name.) I have both versions 4 and 5. I use them both for different kinds of Layouts. Most people just use the latest they have.

I downloaded the trial of the software just so I could have a peek at things and see if I could figure anything out. But there are others who know way more than me! We'll come up with something! :)

For those using Photoshop, I found the "chalk brush" has given me a better motion effect than any scatter ones and do not forget that you can rotate your brushes to different directions.
I have not started my layout but about to do so.

That one was a little difficult, but I'm fairly certain I did it right because I followed all your steps!

Thanks for telling me about Content Aware. That's a new one to me and I can't wait to try it out on future layouts!

This was a fun technique to learn. I didn't know about "content aware" - very cool HUGE THANKS for that! I created an ATC for this challenge:

@IntenseMagic Although I have both PSE 11 and 15 the program I'm most knowledgeable about and comfortable with is PaintShop Pro version 9, the pre-Corel version. It doesn't have any built in effects to match the dispersion technique so I tried using an old plug-in on this image (after duplicating layers and creating a selection). There were no brushes involved, but there was a lot of lever moving and effect repetition. The image below is the result I got from a photo on Pixabay.

Will the effect I came up with be accepted for this challenge? If so, I'll use it on a new image and then create a layout.

I’m going to need some sleep and a trip to Starbucks to accomplish this. My mind is drawing a blank on how to add a layer mask...yikes!

Gosh you girls know how to stretch us! :) I've had a play in Artisan. So far I've gotten a photo, cut it out from the background, saved and copied it and have done the blurred effect. Below is the original and the blurred flow on. I'm still trying to find a way to cut it out using a splatter. Fortunately for me it's Saturday afternoon here and my plan for today and tonight was scrapbooking in my air conditioning as it's 108oF outside right now!!! :) Is this on the right track? @Genniejoy this looks good. Now you just need to do the erasing bits to look like what is achieved with layer masks in photoshop. Your background needs be just the scene. If you cannot remove it in your software, maybe you can reduce the size of your images and use that area on the right side of the photo.

SO, how's this so far ?????? Artisan 5! I can do most things in Artisan given the time and motivation. :) Dinner time! I've been called. Will be back to put it on a layout! IF you think this meets the brief! :)
