Oh my goodness – MOC is more than half way over already!! I hope you are having fun - I'm just thrilled to see SO many scrappers participating!!! I have been watching TLP gallery grow every day, with beautiful pages created during these past few weeks!! Isn’t it fun!? When I look back at my own gallery, the pages I created during past MOC’s really shine – the creative juices these challenges provide are amazing! Okay, on with this challenge … to scrap a page inspired by the photo below ... For this challenge we’re going to use the below photo as our inspiration. I personally love the vintage feel of the photo! Everything is laid out so perfectly, leaving that beautiful white space in the center!! That's what inspired ME to make the layout I did - this challenge is about what inspires YOU when you look at the photo! A few ideas to kick around: In order to achieve the “vintage” feel, you might want to give the photo(s) you are using a sepia or antiqued affect. You may draw the vintage feel from the background papers or elements you use, or even scrap a vintage photo! Maybe that cool typewriter will be your inspiration to use a typewriter font on your page (there are several wonderful typewriter fonts and alphas in our TLP shop). Maybe it is the white space you are drawn to. Or the placement of the elements off of the edges of the page ... study the photo and scrap what inspires you when you look at it. Here is the page I created for the challenge: TLP products used: https://the-lilypad.com/store/layerable-ephemera-paper-stacks.html Layerable Ephemera Paper Stacks by Salhin Studio https://the-lilypad.com/store/Petticoat-Rose-w-ForeverJoy-Designs.html Petticoat Rose Collab by Amber LaBau and ForeverJoy Designs https://the-lilypad.com/store/Typewriter-Alpha-1-and-2.html Typewriter Alpha by Paula Kesselring Your page must be a new page in order to count for the Month of Challenges. Your page should be uploaded to the TLP Gallery and not an outside hosting site. Please post your page in your page thread you created in the MOC Layouts Folder. You should have one post per completed challenge page. If you complete all 31 challenges, your thread should contain 31 posts. Please do not comment in the participants’ page threads so we can keep them clean. You should also post your page here in this thread, and people can comment here if they wish. Pages should contain at least 75% current Lilypad product (currently for sale in the store). All MOC pages must be posted in your main MOC page thread by 11:59 pm eastern time on February 2 in order to count! Thanks for playing along with the challenge - I cannot wait to see your lovely pages!!!
Well darn it! Can you see me now? I should have had my morning java BEFORE I posted this I guess!! Thanks for letting me know!!
Thank you! PHEW!! LOL - Rookie mistakes on my part!! Now, to get ready and scoot to work!! Have fun with the challenge!!
@JillW - Gorgeous inspiration image and sample page! I want to check if its a requirement that we give a vintage feel to our page or photos? I am getting inspired by the top down perspective of the image and would love to use that angle for my page. Therefore, request you to confirm. Thanks!!
There is an inspiration photo along with the layout (I don't think it was there when you looked before ...) - - You can pull your inspiration from anything that catches you eye (from the image) ... the coloring, the layout, the vintage feel of the background or vintage feel of the photo ... ;-) ... hope that helps, if not, feel free to pop me a PM! I'm excited to see your page!!
Love the concept though my only concern is making sure all those edges are fully within the company's guidelines when you print! Your layout is wonderful @JillW
Loved the vintage feel and the wood...was able to use an old photo of my grandparents...probably taken back in the late 40's if I were to guess
I'm glad @Pallavi01 asked her question and @JillW I like your response lol cuz I actually own a turquoise typewriter and I've wanted to scrap it for awhile... this challenge is just the kick in the behind that I needed!
HI So just to clarify, the only requirement is that we make a layout, using the photo as inspiration, whatever we determine that to be? Thanks...love the example layout!
