Not sure if you've been helped yet, but Cheryl has some tutorials on youtube on how to use her templates. She is using PSE 11, but PSE 12 would be the same for using a template. She shows how to clip photos to her torn photos templates, but basically it's the same for papers too. You'll clip the papers to the paper pieces in the template and your photos to the photo areas. Then, you'll delete the elements and replace them with the elements from the kit you use. Add your shadows and you're done. Cheryl also has a free save for web action on her website. http://www.fiddle-dee-deedesigns.com/ And she has even more inspiration on how she makes layouts on her Watch Cheryl Scrap youtube channel. https://www.youtube.com/c/WatchCherylScrap Hope that helps!
mine! SO many layers to delete!! hahaha. I am not used to this much clustering! Why do the templates have like 3 flowers/buttons on top of one another? I like the "dressed down" templates from Fiddle Dee Dee... but I'm wondering why anyone wants the 3 layers of flowers? ideas?
I can truthfully say that this was the most challenging challenge so far , All those bl.... little bits to delete or hide. Now I know why I buy only dressed down templates lol
Clusters and clustering. It's a pretty common design style. It can give more depth with different shadows. They can also reinforce colors or pieces of the layout by repeating them. Just like most crafty things, it's not everyone's style, and that's ok.
Ok So I am really trying to use a template (never have before) and its coming out to be a seriously hot mess! Is there a trick to starting and keeping everything organized?
