Wow.. just found this video re focus, night photos How You Too Can Take Perfectly Sharp iPhone Night Photos there are more there... all by Emil Pakarklis
not sure.. while it appears he has a school.. these and a few others were free you tubes videos with some cool things I did not know! Just wanted to share... not advertising.
I use iPhone (and regularly select my own exposure and focus) but my husband has an android (Moto X, to be specific) so I asked him. He doesn't take pictures much so he didn't know, but we experimented and found that yes, you can manually select your own exposure and focus on his android phone too! Just drag the circle to where you want the focus to be. And like on the iPhone, there's a little sun icon you can drag up and down to adjust the exposure.
I hope you have fun with the info! I watched a few other you tubes he has out there and found a few other interesting nuggets. I just was thrilled with the focus thingy and taking photos at night! I can't wait to try the night photos out!
They don't tell you anything with the phone!!! Thank you for sharing. It was on my list of things to look for today. Saved me some time
I've seen several of his videos. Excellent tips as far as I am concerned. At some point, yes you need to pay to proceed, which I haven't so far. It seems apple should make this info available.
Wish I would have known how to do this before we went to Disney on Ice! I had such problems trying to keep the focus on the skaters and the photos from not flaring out 'cuz of the spot lights!
I use the AE/AF lock and also adjust the exposure w/the sun slider all the time for day photos. It's been around in the native camera (and others like Camera+) for awhile ... but I still struggled with the night shots. His tips and tricks are pretty cool and his latern photos are just amazing. I have to try it with some night photos soon. I subscribed to his YouTube channel and plan to watch the rest of his videos, thanks so much Christa for sharing this with us.
I finally found some time to sit down and watch the video, and several others Great information, thanks so much for sharing, Christa!!
Thank you so much!! Tried taking photos last night of the wolf moon but they kept coming out blurry. This would have helped.
