So happy this got bumped so I saw it! Thank you so much for the style to use in PSE. I get tired of opening CS5 just to do one or a few tweaks. So much better when I can do the whole thing in PSE! But thank you, too, Anne, for TEACHING me how to do it in CS5. Yay!

I must admit my eyes are old and don't usually see the subtitles in shadowing but after trying this with two copies of the same text, one with the style and one with the Normal opacity reduced, I could not see a difference. Is there more of a difference when the text is over a textured paper? I tried my test over just a solid color fill background.

it may be the solid, as I find it works better on lighter colors too...imagine taking an old BIC blue pen and writing on paper. That is my best visual. When you write, you don't push as hard, on a dark background it will "fill " in the small gaps. On a lighter or bumpier (I think like cardstock?) you will have more of a laying on the paper then hover over or pressed into the paper.
try with something lighter and perhaps with texture. kraft paper?

if the top one is the one you used, I can if I go in closer. ARe you using the style or the actual level slider?

Anne, the top one is using the style and the lower one is just an opacity slider. I'm on PSE 13.

eta: ok, I clicked on that and see the difference but I serious doubt that Mr. R and I will notice in my albums. However, I don't want to offend the scrapping cognoscenti anywhere! :lol Thanks for pointing out the difference. :)

    I am now 'Saved'!!!

Wow! I loved seeing that side my side comparison. I love how you can see the fibers of the paper coming through on the top!

I may have to look at my layouts by streaming them to the tv. I can just glow with satisfaction as my dh comments on my excellent text work. bwahaha Actually, he looks at the layouts and sometimes points out my spelling mistakes but I know he enjoys the PL and the travel albums.

It's always good to learn new software tricks! :0
