So I am slowly getting back into my scrapbooking by remaking my baby memories book, son is now 13 so about time I got it finished and printed.

What I want to know is what are some of your favorite fonts for journaling? I am looking for some free fonts, tried some handwritten fonts but not working right on the page. Think I need to try a typewriter font. But with so many to choose from don't know where to start, help??

Right now I'm using a few: DJB Fan Girl, DJB My Mood Ring Says Blah, DK Lemon Yellow Sun (tall thin look). I've also been using the script fonts Laser Metal, Magnolia Sky, Bakery and Bromello for titles.

For a typewriter font, try Heather Joyce's Golden Girls. I love Sophia.

I've been using VT portable remington for years. As I recall it is free on Dafont.

Special Elite - It's my go to for most of my layouts for a couple years now.

I agree with all of the above- I'm totally a font-hoarder! I've been pretty partial to Special Elite for my type-writer font. Although one of my all time faves is Autumn- I like that it's a hand-written looking type-writer font! :)

My favorite fonts for journaling are some of the most traditional. I need those so my dh can read the pages. I use Arial, Helvetica, Archer and Avenir - the former two usually come on most computers; the latter two are not cheap. For a typewriter font, I make sure that it includes numbers and the & symbol because I can often fit more journaling in if I delete all the 'and's and substitute that ampersand.I can be pretty wordy! Right now I'm really happy with Remington Noiseless - free.

Thank you ladies, just downloaded some new fonts :)

@Amie I am totally a font horder to, have way to many fonts and probably don't use half of them Maybe I should learn to hit that 'delete' button on fonts I know I wont use.

Lol @cookingmylife I tried and failed terribly at decluttering my fonts. Deleted a lot of the ones I knew I definitely wouldn't use that had on my mac, but have also downloaded a load more to replace them

Thankfully Artisan 5 gives us the ability to sort fonts into categories of our own choosing. Otherwise I'd never find anything!

I use all my fun fonts for titles, and stick with easy-to-read ones for journaling. A lot of times, that's typewriter fonts. Free ones that haven't already been mentioned:

    Linowrite @ DaFont http://www.dafont.com/linowrite.font
    Veteran Typewriter @ DaFont http://www.dafont.com/veteran-typewriter.font

My other favorite body fonts are Avenir, Garamond, TT Chocolates, Texta, Serifa, Maxwell Slab, Isabel, Monopoly, and Bach - none of which are free.

I love Another Typewriter - it's my go to, but Bohemian Typewriter is another fav and has all the extras that one might need.
For other fonts I love Pea fonts.

I use The Dorothy from Heather Joyce's The Golden Friends set for almost all of my journaling now.

I'm kind of eyeing a free font called Olympia Script now, too. It's a really cool cursive typewriter font!

My favorite is Century Gothic. I think it came with the computer. I also use Abadi MT Condensed Light Not sure where it came from. I use it when I need to get a lot of journaling into a small spot -- since it's condensed. I almost hate reading posts like this, because I LOVE fonts, and I know I'm gonna end up downloading most of the fonts listed because I don't have most of them. :giggle
