Ok, seriously last month it was a blast! Last month we used the template challenge template to use in multiple challenges. Here are the rules: You can't submit ONE page (the same page) for more than one challenge, but you can keep re-using the template and using it for other challenges as long as you only enter the page in ONE challenge. Rotate it, mix it, remove, add, modify it as you see fit for the new challenge, your number of pics, and your loves and needs, ok? You can get the template from the Template challenge thread HERE. This month template is simple and gorgeous. It will take a bit more thinking to transform it, so think of duplicating it or merging it with another template. If you merge it let us know with which other TLP's template in case WE MUST have that template too. LOL!!!! My first entry is for the template challenge: iNSD slow scrap Random Challenge Style challenge Scraplift Journaling
Like I said, I am in! I totally love this challenge (not that I need stretching my stash but it sure helps with thinking outside the box).
It stretches your brain and imagination when buying and seeing template packages. You see them in a complete different way if you are used to "enhance" or "modify" your templates.
I'll play! My brain is on walkabout so my final products might not all qualify as an entry for x challenge (but I'll have a page for my books, lol). This will really be a challenge - so much white space, ack, grin. Whee!
Remember that you need to start with the template but you can modify it. I was thinking of duplicating the paper cluster over and over to create a background. Another option is to use a super busy pattern paper background or use an insane amount of paint and scribbles to create interest.
Well------where was I last month????? I watch all the new posts!!! Still not grasping what exactly you do here, but I will figure it out.
Okay - this is where I'm going to put all my layouts. This is my template challenge page: For the random challenge, I moved the photo cluster over, added 2 more photos and more paper layers: For the style challenge, I added the second big paper for the split design and switched the vertical photo to a horizontal photo. For the journaling challenge, I deleted the photo and inserted my text there. I moved the cluster to the center & added elements in the upper left & lower right corners. Using the template for the scraplift challenge was a challenge! Namely, looking for a page to lift that I could adapt the template to fit. Layout to lift: My layout: Photography Challenge - some additional elements & papers, big splash of gesso, and a new frame for the photo: Inspiration challenge The only May challenge that I didn't use this template for was the BYOC challenge.
Nancy, what we do is usen the template for the template challenge and use it for as many other challenges as we can (or like). Last month I used it on all challenges I did except for the scraplift challenge. This is the thread from last month. https://the-lilypad.com/forum/threads/throwing-a-crazy-scrappy-idea-out-there.54144/
Three pages done now and I am amazed at how versatile a template can be when you set out to make it so.
First page is for the inspiration challenge. I combined the template with another (old) template freebie from FDD.
