I couldn't sleep last night and today when I saw this on a friends' facebook page, I had a chuckle and knew it summed me up perfectly. Some days I just can't get it together! I wish my brain had an off switch or reset button, so I could just clear it all out and start over. Do you ever feel this way?
Not anymore. I'm through menopause (long through!), my children are off on their own and are responsible for their own lives , and I'm now meditating every morning. 95% of the time my brain is calm. I'm also old!
I feel like that statement is just my normal brain around here! I ALWAYS say- what would my husband do without my brain- because I swear he can't remember ANYTHING!
I'm totally jealous!! Although- when I get to your state of calm- I bet I will 'miss' my state of crazy! lol!
Not as much as I used to since most of the time it was work related. Can't tell you how many problems I solved in the middle of the night, sometimes in dreams. Just had to remember them at work the next day. If it happens now, it is because of something that I have on my schedule that might be stressful (dental work) or a deadline I have to have things done for. Retirement is wonderful for reducing stress
oh EM GEEEEE! yes and yes and woke up after good sleep, that means great day no school, casual morning. drama explodes insurance car dealer forgotten meeting quick trip for flowers and cilantro van troubles no school (did I say that already?) treadmill conference calls pick up hubby (van in shop) cook lunch, chicken bad out to eat more crazy make spanish rice shred pork boys to library (they rode) mop floors, and crash on couch for 6 minutes still in sweated thru clothes from treadmill hours ago! ugh it is now...now..lol
Pretty much every day is like that around here. ROFL!!! I don't know what I'd do if my brain had a free moment to just be calm and not think about what I needed to do next.
Although I'm retired like Maureen, and my kids are off on their own, I still find myself waking up at 4 am with my brain just swirling around with 50 different things that I can't turn off! I usually get up and read for an hour, then I'm fine and luckily I can sleep in the next morning!
You had a busy day! BIG HUGS to you. No school for us either (end of term) and hubby is traveling for 10 days on the complete opposite side of the world! I think that had a lot to do with my overactive mind last night. Not knowing when I’ll get to talk to him. The travel was killer over 26 hours from start to finish on 3 flights.
Yeah, that pretty much sums up my weekend and my day today. DD hit a deer on Friday, so dealing with insurance, etc...I got pulled over Saturday for expired inspection sticker (I'm so bad), so dealing with trying to get that done and to the courthouse to show them within 10 days...babysitting all evening...work is chaos...they're calling for another winter storm on the first day of spring. I totally need a reset!
My brain is almost always in overload. That's why I have to keep busy. I stay up really late and until I'm about to hit the wall just so I can go to sleep. That's why I've become so obsessed with walking. I put my earbuds in and turn up my music.
