My niece is turning 21 in April and a bunch of us are flying her to Vegas for the weekend to celebrate. I haven't been to Vegas in probably 18ish years so I'm sure there is a lot more to do since I was there last. We are staying at the New York New York hotel.

We have ziplining over Fremont street on our list. Also, she has mentioned going to Top Golf (which I think she is doing that for her uncles, not for herself..lol).

Anything else? Any cool shows you've seen that a 21 year old would enjoy?

Love Vegas... we went 5 years ago for our 20th and had first row seats for the Criss Angel show. He is an illusionist/magician... It was at the Luxor. We have also had dinner at the Top of the Stratosphere. That would be a wonderful place for dinner for her 21st birthday. It overlooks all of Vegas. It really is neat. (If you are ambitious, there is a roller coaster at the top of the stratosphere... I went on it once and had white knuckles.. LOL it was only once for me!!) We stayed at the Venetian (twice 10 & 20th) and MGM Grand (5th anniv) the first time I went to Vegas in 1997.. I love the Venetian. At the Venetian is also the Madam Trouseau's wax figurine exhibit which is neat. Also the gondelia ride is there. Lots of places to go for sure. I loved the Criss Angel show though.

Ooooh...she would totally love the Chris Angel show! Putting that on my list!
I'll look into the Stratosphere dinner, too. That sounds really cool.

    Thanks, Christa!!

I live here, but I rarely do anything touristy so I don't have any advice. LOL

    Ditto!

If you can swing it, see if you can get on the ferris wheel at the linq at sunset. It's about a 30 minute ride I believe, and it's gorgeous to be in whole the sunsets and the lights come on.
Also, the Bellagio gardens is a pretty place to get photos. And if you've never been, the Las Vegas sign is a fun free thing to do.
The top of the Paris is overrated in my opinion. It was neat, and we went because we had a deal on the linq and Paris together, but not neat enough to pay the price.

The Viva Las Vegas car show is April 19-21 I believe; it's all classic cars and just about everyone is dressed Rockabilly style! SO. COOL.

I've never been to Vegas, but I just wanted to say how awesome it is you are going to celebrate your niece's birthday like that! The one show I want to see is Lady Gaga. IDK when she's starting her residency there, though, so I can't recommend it as something y'all could do.

My mom visited LV last year and she went to Red Rock Canyon. She is NOT an outdoorsy person, but she said it was beautiful and loved walking there. Maybe that's something your family would like to do?

    Red Rock is gorgeous!

And if you ever come with your family Sara, I have a few other places that I'd totally recommend to you!

I went there two summers ago, I have no advice because I didn’t think it was much cool. But that could be because it was so so so freakishly hot. And because I was severely jet lagged. And because we didn’t really have a plan like the ideas I’m reading here. Also I was very disappointed by all the smoking in the casinos. How come that’s allowed?

But I wish you and your niece a great time!!

Ps. How can y’all actually live in a place like that?!

    You live here too?

There is one touristy thing I really want to do - that is the Neon Museum and take the photog's tour!

LOLOL - it's only Hell from July to October - otherwise it's quite pleasant!

The smoking though? I hate it! I used to live in CA where it was illegal in public places. That took getting used to when We moved here. You can't escape it.

Definitely going to say Red Rock Canyon or a drive to Hoover Dam if you aren't thinking just "strip" stuff!

Well...we are from an area in California that get's really hot so we are accustomed to the heat.

I hear ya on the smoking in casinos. I try to stay out of it as much as possible because it gives me a huge headache...red/scratchy eyes...bleh. I hate it.

I like to dress vintage - this might be fun! My nephew comes out for this every year. It's packed, but it's a blast!
