I have a question for you lovely sorry if its already been asked, is it okay to use the other options like ‘Mosaic' within the Pixelate Filter or do we have to use Crystallize @jk703?
I loved this technique, thanks for the wonderful directions. I actually played around with 5 photos while following the direction. I ended up using one as the background paper and the other is the accent under the large photo. The photos used the softlight as the final blending mode. original photo mosaic original photo edited photo
Thankyou for this challenge. I think this is a technique I would use again for background papers. This is the photo I used and following the instructions I made my pixelate - crytallize I chose the size lower that 150 because it was a small photo. Then for the Stylize - find edges I used the blend mode - Multiply Here is my layout:
You can try whatever you'd like. I'm mainly looking for a general geometric mosaic - any shape, and however your program can allow. If you have one in mind, you can send me it in a conversation if you are worried.
So in love with how beautiful and abstract this is, I couldn't cover it up, so I kept it as a subtitle page for a trip album. Original Photo:
Fun challenge - not too hard and good to use my very underused Styles/filters palletes I used a photo of one of the stained glass windows inside the Sagrada (much lightened and played with!)
Here is the original photo I went with the Mosaic Filter because I really liked the pixelated look Hope that is okay.
Here is the page - (reposted, as first layout was less than 25% covered by the technique) And here is the original photo. I used it twice in the background. Once - right side up, and once upside down.
I loved this challenge, thank you for such great instructions!! I turned it on it's side. almost forgot!
Oh my... I have had just too much fun playing with this all day... In the end I chose to go a very different direction than what I have seen in the gallery all day long... My original photo is the one on the page mostly with the colors blended out.... loved how the blending mode I used highlighted the cracks... I pulled all the different layers apart to make the over lapping layers, so they are single parts of the over all... Thanks for introducing us to this technique... the instructions were spot on.... note: For anyone who saw the red photo and comments, all I can say is, when I went back to closing up everything I had been working on, I realized I had NOT used the red photo, I had indeed used the one on the photo... touches of the colors showing on the corners of some layers... glad I caught that before too may people read it....
