WELCOME! Welcome to MOC6, the 2018 edition! I am so excited to once again start off our event with the first challenge of the month! Your first assignment is the Blind Scrap: I give you a set of instructions to follow while creating your page, but you don't get to see my page until the END of MOC! I absolutely love to see how everyone interprets the instructions to create different pages from the same instructions! Ready to get started? Here we go!
    1. Start with ONE solid background paper.
    2. Add ONE patterned paper that is smaller than your background paper (you should still be able to see the solid background).
    3. Add ONE frame. This can be a single opening frame, or multiple opening frame. But it must be one frame.
    4. Place your photo(s) inside your frame.
    5. Add a journal card somewhere on your page.
    6. Add ONE piece of word art. You may NOT include additional journaling. Let your photo tell the story
    7. Add 6 elements to your page. These can be duplicated, or they can be 6 different elements. But you must have 6 (and only 6) elements visible. Since we have already added word art, you may NOT add additional word art (including word strips) as one of your 6 elements.
    8. Add the date.

And that's it! Remember: If I have not listed something in the instructions above, it should not be on your page. You cannot add additional items beyond what I have listed.

EDIT TO ADD my original Blind Scrap page:

Please also remember the standard MOC guidelines: Your page must be a new page in order to count for the Month of Challenges. Your page must be posted in three places:
    1. Uploaded to the TLP Gallery (not an outside hosting site).
    2. Posted in your page thread you created in the MOC Layouts Folder. You should have one post per completed challenge page. If you complete all 31 challenges, your thread should contain 31 posts. Please do not comment in the participants’ page threads so we can keep them clean.
    3. Posted in this thread. People can comment here if they wish.
Pages must contain at least 75% current Lilypad product (currently for sale in the store from either permanent designers or guest designers).

Thanks for kicking off MOC6 with me! Can't wait to see your interpretation of the instructions!

Edit: Day 1 is done! Hoping to get a start on day 2 tonight (9 pm my time), since I work tomorrow for 11 hours. Here's my day 1 layout:

Minimalist is a challenge for me. Definitely outside my comfort zone.

If the journaling card has word art on it, can that count as both the word art and the journal card?

No. Those are two separate requirements, so two separate elements

I didn't count the journal card as an element since it was one of the required steps:

six elements: scallop, two paints, flower, ribbon and stitching
required: word art (upper right), journal card (lower left), frame (lower left)

The thing about minimalism is the page creates fast! Even if I want to add some paint, maybe another element or five.... :giggle

I counted the two staples as two elements even though they were one file.

    fun challenge, thanks!
(the six elements are individual sequins - it wasn't a scatter)

Is it OK to add shadowing? It isn't mentioned in the list of requirements. And you said: If I have not listed something in the instructions above, it should not be on your page. But, the layouts already posted seem to have shadowing.

Shadowing is fine and isn't counted as an element. :)
