To my forty year old self:

For some people I think forty seems like the end, but I think for us, it is going to be an amazing beginning. We are going to keep things in perspective. We are going to celebrate the big things and enjoy the little, everyday things. We are going to move more and sit less. We are going to dare to try new things. We are going to treasure the familiar. We are going to run. We are going to read. We are going to play. We are going to travel. We are going to forge new friendships and nurture the olds ones. When things get tough, as we know they will, we are going to reach out to God. We will read the scriptures and engage in meaningful prayer. We know these are the things that are going to get us through this next decade. That and a bit of Diet Coke!!!
