Description:: Journaling reads: This is my favorite photograph--ever. When Carlie was still afraid of cameras, I was always trying to get the "perfect" picture of us together. It wasn't easy, because she refused to look at the camera for any reason. One afternoon, I took dozens of self-portraits of the two of us, hoping one would turn out. Most were awful, but this gem was hidden among them. I smile every time I see it."
