Holy cow! It’s December and that means the last batch of challenges for 2016! Can you believe it? It’s Polly Karen here and I’m here to give you a look at the new challenges just posted a few days ago in the forum for the month of December.
Each month we have 8 brand new challenges that are posted in the forum Challenge Pad on the 1st. You can use the challenges simply to inspire you to keep creating new layouts OR you can also earn yourself a fabulous coupon for your next shopping trip in the Lilypad Store. (2 challenges = 10%, 4 challenges = 20% and 6 challenges = 30%) AND everyone who completes at least 7 challenges will be considered for a one month guest spot on the creative team (The Pollys). So let’s take a look at this month’s new batch of challenges!
1. Template Challenge – Courtney (bestcee) is hosting the Template Challenge for December. The challenge is to use the free template supplied by Valorie Wibbens and create a layout using it. Here’s a look at the free template followed by a sample created by Courtney:
2. Photography Challenge – The Photography Challenge for this month is hosted by Lori (lcpereyra) and she is challenging you to capture an everyday moment and then scrap it. She urges you to keep it candid… just pick up the camera and capture a photo. Here is an awesome example from Lori:
3. Style Challenge – Ashley (ashleywb) is the host of December’s Style Challenge. Ashley has a super fun idea to create a layout that has an artsy feel, but with lots of white space too. I’m in love with the layout she created for this challenge too:
4. Inspiration Challenge – December’s Inspiration Challenge is being hosted by Julie (mrs2a50) and she wants you to be inspired by the song “God Rest Ye Merry Gentelman” and specifically the line “Oh tidings of comfort and joy”. Julie wants you to create a layout about what bring you comfort and joy. Here’s a perfect example created by Julie:
5. Scraplift Challenge – This month’s scraplift challenge, hosted by Heather (talktoheather) is to find a layout in Chickypow’s gallery that you love and then create a layout inspired by her page. Heather picked this page from Erin’s (chickypow’s) gallery and then created the following scraplifted layout:
6. Journaling Challenge – This month’s Journaling Challenge is being hosted by Jenn (jk703). Jenn is making it simple for you to journal this month by asking you to create a layout and share “3 things” about your subject. You can even use “3 Things” as your title if that helps. Here’s a gorgeous layout created by Jenn:
7. Random Challenge – Heather (HeatherB) is hosting the Random Challenge for December. She wants you to create a layout about a skill or talents. It can be your skill/talent, or about someone else. Heather created this rocking page about her son learning to play bass guitar:
8. BYOC Challenge – Finally we have the BYOC Challenge for December. This challenge, hosted by Amanda (MandaKay), is to use 90% of the products on your page from the current BYOC collection and from at least 3 designers. Here’s is a beautiful sample layout create by Amanda to get you started:
Challenge Galleries: (post your pages to these galleries)
Another month and another 8 great new challenges to keep you busy scrapping. Once you create your own layouts inspired by these challenges, be sure to post them to the appropriate galleries as listed above. Then be sure to also post them to the appropriate thread in the challenge forum. See the thread HERE for further challenge guidelines and see the December Challenge Pad HERE to get started! Don’t forget to post all of your completed layouts in the Challenge Layouts thread so we can be sure to get you the proper coupon at the end of the month. I’ll be back near the end of the month to shine the spotlight on some of the pages created for these challenges! I can’t wait to see what you come up with! Happy scrapping!
