How I loved that set of watercolors brought to school in the early elementary years. It was so clean and pristine at the beginning. Each project would bring a bit more mixing and blending of the colors. The water used to activate the paints also caused the plastic tray to be covered with memories of past creations. This Trend Watch can help you take those adventures with water colors to a new level. The joy of digital scrapping, is pigments don't blend on your page unless you want them too,and we can undo painlessly. There are also so many fun foundations to start and build your watercolor pages. Look at a few ideas here from some of the Pollys with the watercolor in the back ground: I could not even think about not adding some of Farrah's delightful pages, she is a master with the brush, and watercolor effect. Please, please click here to learn how you can play with this technique … [Read more...]

Stylin’
Greetings Happy Scrappers!Polly Liana here to talk about styles. No, not hair styles or clothing styles but styles for your layouts. You may already be familiar with the wonderful shadow styles that are in our shop. They can save you tons of time by automatically adding appropriate shadows to your different elements. Here are some examples. If you've never used shadow styles, take my word for it: give them a try. You can still tweak them after they're added and they really add lots of great dimension to your pages.Besides the shadow styles, there is another kind of style that may have flown under your radar: surface styles. When you purchase a set of these and install them, they will automatically transform the surface of any paper or element to you chosen style. Polly Pick – Renee Seguin
Here is some words by Renee about her style:"I'm not too sure how I would describe my style. I tend to lean towards more simple designs that really use the photos to tell the story. I try to really capture our everyday lives. I like a splash of paint mixed in with some good patterns too. It all depends on my mood. I guess you could say I'm a mood scrapper. lol!"Renee82 is how you know her, and for by her gorgeous pages with her boys oh so handsome and the adventures of her family. I have so enjoyed her Project Life also, thus far for 2014! You can see the love and fun that happens in her life just from the pages she creates. Fun gadgets for photography lovers
Aga (aka asali) – guest pollywog here to talk about some gadgets that could help us take better pictures. This post could be reaaaaally looooong but as I can't post all the gadgets that are available out there I have chosen just some of them. Here is my short list for today:1. Go Pro cameraProbably some of you already have it but for those who don’t I need to say it’s another perspective of taking photos. For me the most important is the angle. It has got industry's widest angle (170º) and sharpest lens captures more of the scene, including you. Their HD housing is rated as shockproof and waterproof to 180 ft/60 meters. It’s announced as extreme sports camera but it can be used in our everyday life and trips with a great app for any smart phone that can help you check all taken photos (and recorded videos). More info at gopro.comSome example pictures: All pics taken … [Read more...]

The Eyes Have It
Ah, it happens to the best of us. Eye strain. When your eyes hurt from focusing on a computer desktop screen, or a laptop screen, or a tablet. Or from reading books, playing video games, being glued to a smart phone...all of these. Often a cold cloth over the eyes will help. But what can you do if can't access a cloth or cold water to soak it in OR it's simply not enough.Eye yoga! Or exercises, whichever suits best. Here's one suggestion. Remember to blink! Yup, blink! When you focus so hard on a screen, you blink less often than you would walking around doing errands. So keep your eyes moisturized naturally by blinking. (try this: stick a note on your screen that says, "BLINK", and see how often you actually need to blink) Look up once in a while and focus on something distant. Could be in your backyard, could be across the living room, could be that tree sitting on that … [Read more...]
