Feet. We depend on them! While there are very few kits with actual feet featured in them, there are a few in the store that have footprints, shoes, and legs (here and there).Just Jaimee's footprint brushes are pretty neat. Did you notice how each pair is different from the others? Michelle Godin's Moody Blues kit is popular amongst the featured foot layouts. Sure, why not? It has a sneaker element in it that practically screams, "Look at your FEET!"Little Butterfly Wings and Mari Koegelenberg's school oriented kit shows off a pair of legs in funky tights and sneakers, just like a teen talking on the phone on their bed...yup. Legs and feet can be expressive, too! Kate Hadfield has TWO foot tracks in this kit. One with, and one without shoes on. (I used the bare foot tracks in the Title Header) If you're wanting sneakers, shoes and the occasional sock, Kate's your … [Read more...]
Trend Watch – Kraft
Some background to this term KRAFT paper...it is because it is the process (kraft process) in which the paper is produced. Taking wood and converting it to a wood pulp of mainly fibers. The paper made is very strong. It is the sack paper that is designed for packaging. It is darker than other papers, but can be bleached to make it very white. The white is considered a very high quality paper. A fun little fact, the base paper for sandpaper, yep kraft paper! That sack lunch bag has become a highly sought after trend for scrapbooking, because it really can go with about anything you toss at it!Take a look at the versatility of the kraft paper with paints! My personal favorite element to toss on the paper! Paints seem to be so happy against kraft paper:Using kraft on top of kraft is a great technique also, look how Ellie has used it in her amazing Project Life … [Read more...]
Here’s Your Hashtag
Remember a couple months back when I posted some tips and tricks that I have learned about hashtags and social media?!?! Since then the TLP fans have been AWESOME about hashtagging their creations, making it easy for me to find and share your work with all our TLP fans!I had a request last week for a list of the hashtags that I use when posting to the sites IG account. I kinda felt silly that I hadn't thought of compiling this for y'all before! I decided to include some general hashtags as well as ones specific to us here at TLP.So without further ado, here she is in all her hashtagging glory. General Hashtags#latergram – used when posting a photo at a "later" time. Usually a couple hours to a day after taking the photo.#throwbackthursday or #tbt – used for sharing photos from years ago#flashbackfriday or #fbf – same as Throwback Thursday, just on Friday … [Read more...]

Our hands do a lot for us. Understatement of the year, I know! Today's feature is...(drum roll, please) hands! Hands in kits, hands in layouts, your hands... yup.Let's start with what's in the store, first. There's some handy-dandy elements here, including what I used in the banner up top: Kim Jensen's Damaged Goods elements, Michelle Godin's Hello Goodbye elements, Kate Hadfield It's A Mystery, and the background is from Lynne-Marie's Dream Bundle. Some lovely postal style stamps featuring a classic pointy finger hand. So classy!Just Jaimee and Michelle Godin went to town with handprints. Behind the Designs: Heather Joyce
We are featuring our resident fontographer, Project Life superstar and the all-around-fantastic Heather Joyce today. She has taken some wonderful pictures of her workspace, complete with her furry family members, a few of her gorgeous typewriters and a peek at her love of all things vintage. Mac or PC?Mac. My whole life. Brother worked for Apple and I was… we will say, convinced at a young age. I remember the first time I turned on the computer and it was a color monitor. Now I work for Apple…. so…. :D It’s a MacBook Pro. I move around a lot. I get work done anywhere I can.Coffee or tea (or both/neither)?Yes. Coffee in the morning. Then tea once I get to work. Guilty pleasure snack while creating/scrapping?Since I don’t have a set time, I don’t have a set snack. But I’ve always got chips and salsa to snack on. Mild salsa too and chunky. I like a lot of veg … [Read more...]

Pocket Pages: Newbie Perspective
Everybody knows that Pocket Pages, inspired by Becky Higgins' Project Life, are all the rage right now. And they are not going anywhere! The concept has been around for a while but it took me, personally, a couple of years to jump on board the bandwagon. My personal story involves completing P365 (a photo a day) in 2010 and it was a fantastically documented year for us! Then I sort of wimped out after that with regards to organized projects and continued scrapping whatever struck my fancy (which, by the way, is totally cool). Last year, I dabbled in the Pocket Pages, doing a 2 page spread a month, but I still havn't completed the year because it is very difficult for me to summarize most of our months in 2 pages and still manage to get any "story" documented. Not to mention, streamlining the photos. I took forever just figuring out what to include! So this year, I decided it was … [Read more...]
Polly Pick – Sucali (Susanne)
I know you have all seen dear Susanne(Sucali)'s pages throughout digiland. I am time and time again amazed at her pages. This Polly Picks Challenge is Sucali. Here are a few words from her about her style of scrapping:I started digital scrapbooking in 2010.I like a more clean and simple style with a lot of white space.Sometimes it takes me more time to create an “empty” page than a “full” page because, in this style, every little element counts and must be in the right place. I often use ribbons, word art and some paint splatters for the background. I love flowers and when you look in my gallery you will see that I have a flower in almost every layout. For me, shadows are important. Each page needs shadows, all in the correct direction and each element needs the matching shadow size to look more realistic. Her Gallery is filled to overflowing with beautiful pages. Now is your chance … [Read more...]

There’s an App for That!
If you're anything like me, a significant portion of my Pocket Scrapbooking is done with iPhone pictures. I've recently started using several apps that help streamline my process, and I'm all about something that will help me get my memories documented more quickly.1. Collect: This app works as a visual calendar and keeps track of my pictures, as well as sending reminders about snapping photos. It allows you to search by date, which is a definite plus for me since I am not always vigilant about keeping up to date with my pocket scrapping. Collect also backs up your photos to Flickr, Dropbox, and your computer. 2. PicFrame: My favorite thing to do with PicFrame is to make a 4x6 photo collage from my phone completely ready to print and stick in a pocket. You can even choose to round your corners! 3. InstaWeather, InstapPlace, InstaFood: I have just discovered these 3 apps, … [Read more...]
