Hi Hungry Scrappers!Polly Liana here, with a quick recipe today for scrumptious popcorn. This is the perfect time to make popcorn here in the northeast-- it's not warm enough yet for ice cream but not cold enough anymore for hot chocolate. Popcorn is the perfect cozy, tasty treat for an evening snack and especially lovely when you're needing to munch on something while you're scrapping or hanging out in the forums here at The Lilypad. I've got a recipe here that will blow away anything you could possibly pull out of a microwave, both health and taste-wise. Plus, it makes your kitchen smell divine. If you follow the directions closely, it should leave very few of those vile unpopped kernels that can cause all kinds of dental misery. So, without any further ado, let's get started.1. First, you need popcorn kernels and canola oil. I prefer to top mine with coconut oil and Old … [Read more...]

Organize Your Pad: Fonts
Welcome to the March Edition of Organize Your Pad. This month, we've been discussing Fonts a bit in the forum and I've discovered a couple of interesting things. First of all, there are many of you that are just as addicted to Fonts and Font Collecting as I am. Second, there are many of you who are just as unorganized in your storage/use of them as I am, hehe...And that's OK! Today, I'm gonna share a bit about the organization options out there for your fonts, but also do a little enabling with some favorite fonts, both free and for sale.I have about a Gazillion and one fonts and, honestly, I probably only use about 25% of them regularly. So, why do I keep them all on my hard drive just to slow down my PS/PSE? Good question. Really, what I should be doing it storing them in a good Font Manager and only pulling in the ones I need for my pages. Right? Right. So, what font … [Read more...]

It’s here! It’s finally here!!
Hi Happy Scrappers!Polly Liana here, with some photo inspiration for my very faaaaavorite season. If you're living anywhere that is snow-prone, you joined me yesterday in a big sigh of relief as we finally welcomed Spring back after a long, snowy and very cold winter. Even though it's not exactly balmy where I live, I'm looking forward to rising temperatures soon enough. With those warmer temps, come small bits of green peeking out of the ground. I was born and raised in Hawaii so I had never experienced the way the world slowly wakes up after winter. Now I look forward with great eagerness to seeing buds and bulbs popping out everywhere I look. It's such a hopeful, happy sign that we're finally coming out of the dreary, cold world we've been in for the past few months. I get so excited about spring that I often take my camera and macro lens out for walks to document all the … [Read more...]
You Put Your Right Foot In
Feet. We depend on them! While there are very few kits with actual feet featured in them, there are a few in the store that have footprints, shoes, and legs (here and there).Just Jaimee's footprint brushes are pretty neat. Did you notice how each pair is different from the others? Michelle Godin's Moody Blues kit is popular amongst the featured foot layouts. Sure, why not? It has a sneaker element in it that practically screams, "Look at your FEET!"Little Butterfly Wings and Mari Koegelenberg's school oriented kit shows off a pair of legs in funky tights and sneakers, just like a teen talking on the phone on their bed...yup. Legs and feet can be expressive, too! Kate Hadfield has TWO foot tracks in this kit. One with, and one without shoes on. (I used the bare foot tracks in the Title Header) If you're wanting sneakers, shoes and the occasional sock, Kate's your … [Read more...]
Trend Watch – Kraft
Some background to this term KRAFT paper...it is because it is the process (kraft process) in which the paper is produced. Taking wood and converting it to a wood pulp of mainly fibers. The paper made is very strong. It is the sack paper that is designed for packaging. It is darker than other papers, but can be bleached to make it very white. The white is considered a very high quality paper. A fun little fact, the base paper for sandpaper, yep kraft paper! That sack lunch bag has become a highly sought after trend for scrapbooking, because it really can go with about anything you toss at it!Take a look at the versatility of the kraft paper with paints! My personal favorite element to toss on the paper! Paints seem to be so happy against kraft paper:Using kraft on top of kraft is a great technique also, look how Ellie has used it in her amazing Project Life … [Read more...]
Here’s Your Hashtag
Remember a couple months back when I posted some tips and tricks that I have learned about hashtags and social media?!?! Since then the TLP fans have been AWESOME about hashtagging their creations, making it easy for me to find and share your work with all our TLP fans!I had a request last week for a list of the hashtags that I use when posting to the sites IG account. I kinda felt silly that I hadn't thought of compiling this for y'all before! I decided to include some general hashtags as well as ones specific to us here at TLP.So without further ado, here she is in all her hashtagging glory. General Hashtags#latergram – used when posting a photo at a "later" time. Usually a couple hours to a day after taking the photo.#throwbackthursday or #tbt – used for sharing photos from years ago#flashbackfriday or #fbf – same as Throwback Thursday, just on Friday … [Read more...]
Give’m a Hand!
Our hands do a lot for us. Understatement of the year, I know! Today's feature is...(drum roll, please) hands! Hands in kits, hands in layouts, your hands... yup.Let's start with what's in the store, first. There's some handy-dandy elements here, including what I used in the banner up top: Kim Jensen's Damaged Goods elements, Michelle Godin's Hello Goodbye elements, Kate Hadfield It's A Mystery, and the background is from Lynne-Marie's Dream Bundle. Some lovely postal style stamps featuring a classic pointy finger hand. So classy!Just Jaimee and Michelle Godin went to town with handprints. So fun for that personal touch (heh) on your layouts, don't you think?SCan you find the hand stamp? This kit is sooo full of amazing elements and colorful patterns, the hand is a nice little bonus. And this kit has another terrific pointy finger hand. Another super … [Read more...]
