Hey all, Sarah here. I'm here to share a new Pocket Scrapping Art Journal Challenge. This month's sponsor is Jacque Larsen. I love Jacque's painted goodies. Her products are such a good fit for my Snap! Album project. For this week's challenge I chose Jacque's July 2011 BYOC collection (on sale today only, Wed. March 4th, 2015 for 50% off).I love to travel and have always enjoyed road trips. This week's challenge is journal about somewhere you've visited. I chose New York City. I used to road trip there a few times a year when I lived in the northeast. I decided to focus my journaling on how I regret not going and doing any of the real touristy things when I visited. You can find the challenge post in the Art Journaling Pad. Jacque has quite a few amazing products that would work well for the pocket scrapping art journaling … [Read more...]
Making Planner Stickers from Digital Supplies
I love planners! I've had some kind of a paper planner since 8th grade. Planners keep me focused and on top of all the things a busy mom/wife/crafter has to keep track of. In the past six months paper planners have really caught on with the scrapping community. But of course we as scrappers are taking planners to a whole new level by decorating our planner pages. Today I have a short tutorial to show you how you can make stickers for your planner using some of your digital supplies.1. Select the type of sticker you want to make and also the digi supplies you want to use . I chose to make some weather and water stickers for tracking in my planner. For this I chose Signs of Spring and Shaping Up by Kate Hadfield. Her doodles make perfect stickers!2. Open a 8.5" x 11" document in Photoshop. Place the elements that you want to make into stickers on the document. … [Read more...]
Hybrid Layout with Memory Pockets Monthly and Add Ons
Hi all, Sarah here. I love the weekend that the Memory Pockets Monthly collection gets added to the store each month. It's exciting to see all of the great products that are created for this special collection.I used this month's collection to go back and scrap a couple of pages from March 2013. This was a really hard month for us, so I've put off scrapping it, but I felt like this collection had some really great elements to document this point in our lives. Here is my page documenting the first few days of the month. And the 2nd page documenting the next week or so.I love how the add ons really help stretch the main kit, adding to the versatility of Memory Pockets Monthly. I love using journal cards as is, adding my photo and/or journaling and a couple of embellishments and calling it done. But I really love seeing how I can make the collection work for me … [Read more...]
Pocket Scrapping Out of Order: Tip #2 & 3
Hey scrappers, Polly Jewelle here! Today I have a two more tips in our pocket scrapping out of order series to share with you. Although I primarily do hybrid pocket scrapping I believe these tips can work with digital pocket scrapping as well. Lets get started!Tip #2 Keep all your record keeping in one placeIn this day and age we have the ability to keep records about us, our children, pets, activities, etc. However with the growth of technology we seem to be keeping these records in a bunch of different places. For example how many different social media accounts do you have? Do you post pictures, quotes, funny sayings your children say on them, etc? I know I do! I used to think since I was recording all these moments it would be so easy when I was scrapping to just go pull all that stuff together to put into a pocket page. Boy was I wrong! It took a lot of time to go … [Read more...]

February Hybrid Variety Show - FlowersIt's time for another edition of the Hybrid Variety Show. This month we are doing our best to get over the winter blues with beautiful flowers.Sarah brought some sunshine into her workspace with these pretty wallflowers. She used Flower Brigade by Jacque Larsen. Here is what Sarah had to say about her process:I decided to hang some cute flowers over my workspace to brighten up my office and forget about all the snow and ice that's still hanging around outside. I used Jacque Larsen's Flower Brigade. I cut them out with my Silhouette and then applied them to my wall using Tombow repositionable adhesive. I love my little bit of spring inside even if it's still very much so winter outside.Jewelle created this beautiful card using Treasured by Amber LaBau. Chalk Paint Tutorial
Greetings, Happy Scrappers!Hope you're having a lovely start to your weekend. Today, I'm going to show you how to use stencils and chalkboard paint. Even though I've been a kindergarten teacher for 20 years, I have to admit, my chalkboard skills are nothing to write home about. I wanted to add some fun chalkboard accents to my home but I didn't want to be reminded of my less-than-stellar handwriting so I decided to use chalk paint. The paint I used is made by Martha Stewart (link here) and it cost about $8 in my local craft shop. In that shop, I also found a fantastic combo chalkboard- hanging twine board that I thought would be perfect to create an ever-changing photo gallery.First, I printed some photos, surrounded by the fantastic frames created by our designers here at the Lilypad. I cut them out and hung them from the twine. I didn't want to mess up the chalkboard with … [Read more...]
Mixed Media Monthly – February 2015
Hey guys, I'm back again this for this month's edition of "Scrap with the Mixed Media Monthly Main Kit". This month's kit is so gorgeous and I LOVE the "passion" theme. There are so many things we are passionate about and this is the perfect kit to scrapbook or art journal about.I recorded my process with it again this month. There was so much goodness in the kit that you can see it was really difficult for me to decide. OK, it's hard to see in fast forward, but the actual video was 23 minutes long and lots of scrolling up and down the window and pausing to try and make a decision. I also chose to use the template for this page. I love how easy templates make it for completing a page. The design part of it is already done for you. Have fun watching...Before you leave, I wanted to share with you some of the perks of being a subscriber. Not only do you get access to the main … [Read more...]
