Hey Pad Scrappers!
Polly Liana here, with a great and easy activity to do with your kids. I have been a kindergarten teacher for many years and one of the centers that my students like the best is the “Beautiful Stuff” center. It’s a really easy center to set up and use and you’ve probably got a lot of the things you need lying around the house!
First, grab a nice basket. Then, gather random bits of “beautiful stuff” like costume jewelry, beads, old watches, fake flowers, paper clips, pipe cleaners, little boxes and other shiny, sparkly special-looking things. Finally, add a couple of old frames with the glass and backings removed. Voila! You’ve got a fun activity that will keep your kids occupied for a good long time. My students love filling their frames with tiny beautiful items and making art with them. Then I take a photo of it and they can start all over again. If something that your child creates is especially noteworthy, print it on canvas and you’ve got a cool wallhanging!
I hope you’ll try this fun activity with your children this weekend. Have a great one!
