How to Find Peace in Stressful Times
I'm super stressed right now.For the first time in 20 years, I have a new boss and his style is very different from my previous boss. Some of the changes he is making are in direct conflict with what I know is good practice but they're being required right now which puts me in a difficult position. We've also had some health struggles and loss in our family. To top it off, we're all living in a world of conflict, uncertainty, massive natural disasters and injustice. It's enough to make you crawl under the covers in a little ball. We've all dealt with stress at one time or another; for some, it comes and goes and for others, it's ever-present. Background stamps
Using background stamps can add a little extra oomph to your page. Whether you use a single stamp or multiple stamps to create your design, it is a little touch that can impact your page in many ways. The TLP store has a multitude of stamps to choose from. You can find the stamp section HERE. When using a stamp, it is a flat product that can be resized, recolored and/or textured. You can layer multiple stamps together. Realistic Clustering with Flat & Dimensional Embellishments
Hello everyone! I'm just popping in today with a quick tip on how to make your clusters look more realistic and interesting. Many times we think we can only achieve dimension by adding "fluffy" embellishments to our pages, but the key to achieving a balanced clustering effect is combining both flat and dimensional elements. This technique helps the eye to see different levels of dimension instead of throwing a big fluffy cluster at it that may look unbalanced against a flat background. Here are some examples of this technique: Notice that not only are flat and dimensional elements combined on both of these pages, but the flat elements aren't all at the bottom of the page. On the first layout, I layered word strip title on top of more dimensional foliage elements and embedded the banner element between foliage and flowers. On the second … [Read more...]
Here’s the September M3!
Greetings, Pad Scrappers!Polly Liana here to introduce you to the M3 collection for September. M3 stands for Mixed Media Monthly, a wonderful subscription and collection designed especially for fans of mixed media. We gathered up four of our most talented mixed media designers, gave them a palette and three words and sent them off to create some AMAZING products! The words for this month are school related, of course: LEARN-INSPIRED-MENTOR. The palette has some lovely earthy and jewel tones. First, our designers collaborate to produce a main collection:Then, they "go rogue" and pursue their own interests, using the same palette and words as inspiration. They create add-on kits that you can use to customize and personalize the collection. Here are some add-ons:From Lynne-Marie:From Dawn Inskip:From Little Butterfly Wings:I love the bright … [Read more...]
